Angkor ticket revenue up 71% | Bangkok Post: business

The higher value of ticket sales at the Angkor Complex mainly reflects an 85% increase in daily admission prices in February. In October alone, ticket sales to foreign tourists amounted to $8.5 million, an increase of 81.8% from the same month last year, Khmer Times reported. The price of a one-day ticket to the park was increased by 85% from $20 to $37, on Feb 1 this year. “The rising revenue is helping increase the budget allocated to the protection of the Angkor historical site,” he added. Two dollars from every ticket sale is used to provide treatment for Cambodian children in need of medical attention.
